Over the moon to share that I will be debuting my super short film ‘Shot and Killed’ on Nov 14 at the Lion’s Main Art Collective pop-up exhibition Erasure on Nov 14 at the Nuclear Exchange Gallery @ Tashiro Kaplan Artists Lofts. My film is an experimental doc/short filmed in Seattle during a National Day of Action for Black Lives Matter.

This is such a big deal for me. I’ve always been very private about my art.

I’m reminded of my time working for the federal government in the early 2000s – where we had access to “the internet.” When we weren’t taking reports of national waterway pollution, tractor trailer jackknifing, oil spills, nuclear leaks, railroad derailments (and fatalities), hazmat emissions, or terrorist and potential weapons of mass destruction events – we were free to do as we please. When I was done with my night school screenwriting homework, I chose to spend my time watching short indie films on the now defunct website AtomFilms. I would watch all these amazing indie shorts (a true teen of the 90s) and it has always been a clique I wanted to belong to. It may have taken almost 15 years but finally I’m a member of the squad and producing my own creative work. If you want to check it out stop by to see 30 different Queer and Trans artists’ work on the subject of Erasure. More coming soon 🙂
